Gertrude (Trudy) Wiebe, age 79 years of Altona (Altbergthal), Manitoba, passed away peacefully at Eastview Care home on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
Trudy was born September 14, 1942 in Altona. She married the love of her life Henry D. Wiebe on June 10, 1962 and moved to Altbergthal to begin their married life, farming and raising a family.
Caring for her family and her home was most important to her. After raising her family she went back to school to become a hairdresser. As we all know people share many stories/secrets with their hairdressers. Trudy respectfully kept these to herself.
Trudy & Henry enjoyed camping, traveling, playing cards, coffee dates, and many meals with their friends and family.
She took great pleasure preparing meals that were enjoyed by many. For example, family meals, meals to the field, and providing food to support people in the community in times of distress. Her kitchen was always open.
The grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. From building forts out of blankets in the living room, cooking in the kitchen, sleep over’s, 1st haircuts, attending all their activities growing up. She was always there to listen and give “grandma advice”.
Trudy is survived by her loving husband, Henry D. Wiebe, brother Jack Penner (Dora), sister-in-law Sarah Penner, brother Jim Penner and sister Verna Penner (Eduardo Pogorelsky). She was predeceased by her father Diedrich Penner, mother Agatha Penner and brother Dick Penner.
Left to cherish her memory are 3 children Corinne (Glenn) Komishon, grandchildren, Sarah and Daniel. Grant Wiebe, grandchildren Emily (Derrick) Giesbrecht, great-grandsons, Keon and Kendrick; Dylan (Ravae) Wiebe, great-grandson Redden Wiebe; Tara Wiebe. Lloyd (Lorrie) Wiebe, grandchildren Taylor, Karly & Jesse Wiebe.

The family would also like to thank all who have prayed, sent words of encouragement, gifts of food and comforted us with visits and telephone calls. May God bless you all.
