Tina Braun

Tina Braun (nee Wieler) was born on Christmas Day 1933 to Cornelius and Eva Wieler of Rosengart, Manitoba, one of 9 children. She grew up on the farm, developing many practical skills. School years in Rosengart were memorable, especially the music lessons and hymns taught by teacher Henry Enns. She went on to attend MCI, completing grade 10.

In her early 20's, she met Bernie Braun while a student at Elim Bible College in Altona, and in 1954 they were married. They built a life together, providing a loving home for their 6 children. The days must have been full, with housework, cooking, sewing and church commitments. But Mom found time to sit with her children while they practiced piano, encouraging that love of music which had blossomed in her own childhood.

Once the kids were grown up, Mom took on work, both at Friesen's and in her catering business. She also went back to school, completing the requirements for grade 12 in 2002. She always loved learning and was proud that she had finally earned her high school diploma.

In the last few years of her life, Mom became a resident at Eastview. Here she found a wonderful, caring community. She became a regular at the puzzle and bingo tables, sharing many close friendships. She was always up for conversation, had a deep faith, and remained clear till her final days. Tina was predeceased by her parents, her husband Bernie, her siblings Eva, Abe, Ken, John, Victor, her son-in-law, Gary and great grandchildren Meela and Russell.

She is survived by siblings Richard, Ella and Helen, children Mel (Lynne), Daryl (Kim), Connie, Carilee (Wayne), Dwight, Tammy, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A private funeral service will be held with interment at the Altona Cemetery.
