Rose Pott (nee Palmer)

At almost 102 years old Rose passed away at Emerson Care home Monday, July 24th, 2023.

Left to mourn her passing are her daughter Louise Dougall, son-in-law Ron Remillard, Grandchildren Randy Dougall & Nicole McAllister (Dale), great-grandchildren Ava & Lacy McAllister, nephew Clayton Pott and many other nieces and nephews and their families. Rose was pre-deceased by her husband Horace Pott (1978), long-time companion Herb Froom (1999), her brothers; Jim, George, Bert & Wilfred, her sisters; Margaret, Jane and twin sister Lil, her daughter Lorraine Remillard, and son-in-law Gordon Dougall.

Rose’s parents, John & Margaret Palmer moved to Greenridge MB from Saskatchewan in the 1930’s, where they raised their 8 children. Rose and Lil attended a dance in Woodmore where they met 2 brothers (Herald & Horace). The 4 of them dated, fell in love and got married. Horace and Rose welcomed 2 daughters, Louise in ‘49 and Lorraine in ‘52. Their family later moved to Emerson in 1965 and that same house is where Rose lived until she was 99. For many years Rose loved to garden, making the BEST pickles and jams. She loved playing Bingo and even won from time to time. Rose loved her grandchildren Randy & Nicole and was so happy to be upgraded to GREAT grandma when Ava & Lacy were born. Although she had many nieces and nephews that she cared for deeply, Clayton Pott held a special place in Rose’s heart. They were very close, and our family is very grateful for all his help and being there with her through the hardest of times.

Love you forever and always. Rest in Peace.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Greenridge Cemetery.
