Allison Friesen Reid (Andrew) of Carey, North Carolina
He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years Sandra (nee Bulloch); parents Jim & Elsie Donald; four brothers and one sister; one niece and one nephew.
Dad grew up on the family farm near Sinclair, MB. He was the youngest of the family and the last of his siblings to leave their earthly homes.
Dad had a 35-year career with Federated Cooperatives Ltd. Starting out as a yard man in the lumber yard and ending his career as the Corporate Secretary for New Grade Energy at the Co-op refinery in Regina. His career took our family to many communities across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Starting in Reston, then onto Roblin, Glenboro, Hamiota, Saskatoon, Altona, Dauphin, then back to Saskatoon and finally Regina.
Dad & Mom retired to Winnipeg in 1995 where they were closer to grandchildren and took in hockey games and many softball games. Dad & Mom liked to travel and took many vacations travelling throughout Canada from coast to coast and numerous trips throughout the United States. Most memorable for them were their trips to Spain and Hawaii. Their happy place was Mesa, Arizona where they wintered for 20 years.
Dad loved his sunshine. The day before he passed away was a beautiful fall day and his afternoon was spent outside in the courtyard of the Canoe Club soaking up the sunshine.
Rest in peace and sunshine dad.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at a later date in Reston, MB.
