Heinrich Hildebrand

Heinrich Hildebrand, age 73 years of Altona, Manitoba passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at his residence.

Heinrich was born to Heinrich and Elizabeth Hildebrand on January 12, 1949 in Cuauhtemoc, Mexico.  He was baptized in June 1968 in the Neuenberg Old Colony Church.  He married Margaretha Loewen on November 14, 1968 at the Krohnstal Old Colony Church.  Together, they were blessed with 9 children, 7 sons and 2 daughters, while living in Schanzenfeld, Mexico.  They immigrated to Canada with their children in 1987, living for several years in Winkler, and the last 19 years in Altona.

He is survived by his wife, Margaretha (nee Loewen), their children, Jake (Helen), Danny (Ana), Henry (Margaret), Helen (Abe), Judy, John (Megan), Will (Nancy), Abe (Cherie) and Pete, as well as 23 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, 6 sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

On behalf of the family, we would like to thank everyone for the prayers and support during the past several days.  Thank you for the visits and meals, and for the family members who travelled long distances to be here.  A special thank you to Wiebe Funeral Home for being there for the family and for making arrangements.  A big thank you to the first responders for their excellent care and compassion shown at the time of his passing.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Altona Sommerfeld Mennonite Church.  Viewing will be at Wiebe Funeral Home Altona on Saturday, September 10 from 1:00 - 9:00 p.m. and at the church prior to the service.
