It is with great sorrow that the family of George Trafton announce his death on Wednesday March 11, 2026, at the Altona Memorial Health Centre.
George was predeceased by his parents Gord and Ruth Trafton, wife Diane Trafton and daughter Leslie Trafton.
George was born June 11, 1942, raised alongside his brothers Walter (Joanne) and John (Shirley) in Fort Rouge. George retired as a teacher from Sargent Park School after 25 years. His dedication to teaching his students was evident in the time, care and passion he gave to each of them
George was a loving husband to Diane and devoted father to children Leslie (Curtis), Nancy, John and two grandchildren Jeremy and Joshua. He spent many years in arena's, soccer fields and baseball diamonds coaching and cheering us all on. George loved being with his grandkids. Teaching them how to skate, seeing them off every morning for daycare and always available to play. Jeremy and Josh loved goofing around with their grandpa.
In later years George found love again and married Iris. George had a large extended family with Sharon, Francis, Lynn, Patrick and many grandchildren. George and Iris moved out to Emerson and loved the slower quieter life.
I want to leave you with something better than words or sounds. Look for me in the people I have loved and if you cannot live without me, then let me live in your eyes, your mind and your acts of kindness...
