Cornelius Klassen

Cornelius Klassen passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, leaving behind a rich legacy of love, family, and companionship.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, Cynthia (Brian) Klassen, Jacqueline Harms (Roland Kroecher), Jeffrey Klassen (Lisa Harcus), Terrence (Michelle) Klassen, and Lesley Klassen. He was a proud grandfather to his grandchildren, Taryn, Jeneviah, Jasmin, Amy, Justin, Michael, Anna, Riley, and Brooke and was blessed with nine great-grandchildren. Cornelius found deep happiness later in life with his fiancée, Mabel Virginia Cooper, and embraced her family as his own. He will be dearly missed by Mabel and her children, Carla (Sonny) Demery, Sharon (Mervin) McKay, Len (Fran) Cooper, Lena (Frank) Klassen, Katherine Cooper, John (Elsie) Cooper, Charlie (Corrina) Cooper, and Belinda (Peter) Merasty, along with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cornelius was predeceased by his parents, Diedrich and Annie Klassen, his brother Bernie Klassen, his beloved granddaughter, Amber Klassen, and Elizabeth Fehr, mother to their children.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Altona Senior Centre. Interment will take place at the Altona Cemetery.
